:-The one question that came to my mind was, are employ-ability skills available only in colleges?
:-Aren't there any other factors that contribute to an individual's employ-ability?
:-Could there be any specific habits that we cultivate during childhood, which might help an individual appear more employable?
:-How about decision making?
:-How can you expect an individual to possess the ability of decision-making as soon as he passes out of college when every decision till then was made by his parents?

In my opinion, decision-making can be cultivated from when you're a child. There are parents out there who let their children take a few decisions. How does this process of decision-making start? To give you an instance, it can be small as choosing one'e own outfit for the day or choosing what he/she wants to eat for lunch/dinner. Instead of asking, we tell our child to wear this or to eat whatever is cooked. It can be even asking them which route to take to reach local destination. What are we doing in these activities? Encouraging the idea of decision-making.

Let's talk about problem-solving skills.

:-How is a student, all of a sudden, expected to solve problems by himself when his parents have been doing it for him since he was a child?
There are certain habits that parents need to instill in their children. His/Her brain will be programmed to solve problems, take decisions etc.

Let's take a look at a few examples of how to cultivate these habits. How about accepting change? That's an attribute, which is very important from a future employ-ability perspective. With the way things are changing, it's very important for an individual to be able to adapt to change. It is perhaps a human tendency that a lot of people are skeptical towards change when they enter the corporate world. Whenever I have tried to understand the root cause, it has always taken me back to their childhood where they happened to observe a resistance towards change, which made them subconsciously believe that change is bad.

The next question is - how can I cultivate the habit of accepting change? Let's look at some examples from my life. Whenever there was an instance of chance that took place during my childhood my father always said,"good, let's try it, ''Do you notice the change in opinion and development of skills that take place as we grow up?

Parents are constantly crafting their children's skills hoping to make them more employable.

All your answers to the questions that he/she asks to determine his/her belief system. Use your words wisely.
